My favorite thing to do is make an outfit versatile. I grew up always over dressing. I love everything fancy and frilly and high heeled. When I got married though I was asked more times than not why do you always overdress we are just running to the store. This has made me tone it down a little (a little lol). In so doing I have learned how to make outfits versatile.
Example one...this outfit.
Skinny jeans and a casual button down top.
However...when you throw a little furry vest on and complete the look with heels and some fabulous eye shadow you can easily dress the look up.

Outfits like this are perfect when you don't know where you are going or what the general outfit occasion may be. All you have to do is bring a pair of heels and a fancy vest and there you go!
If you want to spice it up a little add a pop of color with a bold eyeshadow (see below)
